The Father Son Bowl has given our family some of our favorite memories—and a few touchdown celebrations we will never forget!
Our experience began in 2012, when I volunteered as a scorekeeper. My sons were not yet old enough to play, but my wife and I wanted to see what the event was all about. It did not take long for us to understand why so many families loved it.
My oldest son joined me on the field in 2013, and my youngest followed in 2014. For more than 12 years, we have played together with their friends, competed hard, laughed a lot, and created stories that still get told in our family. Every year, the Father Son Bowl is an event we circle on the calendar and look forward to.
Then it became a three-generation tradition. My father-in-law joined us in 2014 or 2015 at the age of 69—and he kept playing through age 81! There is nothing quite like watching your son throw a touchdown pass to his grandfather. That is a highlight most families never get to experience, and it is a memory we will always treasure.
I have also been proud to sponsor the Father Son Bowl for approximately eight years. Supporting it has never felt like simply sponsoring a football game. It is an investment in families, friendships, our community, and the kind of memories that last long after the final whistle.
Darin Clark and his team have built something truly special in Franklin. The Father Son Bowl brings generations together, creates plenty of friendly competition, and reminds us that some of life’s best moments happen when families take the field together.
Our family is grateful to be part of it—and we cannot wait for the next kickoff!
